TukuManual

Notifications

How desktop, mobile, and email notifications work — and how to set them so you stay responsive without burning out.

Each teammate controls their own notifications under Settings → Notifications. Workspace owners can set sensible defaults for new teammates, but every person can override.

This is what most teams converge on after a week.

What you can be notified about

For each channel, pick the events you want pings for:

  • New message in a conversation I own.
  • Conversation handed off and unassigned.
  • Conversation re-opened after closing.
  • Mention in an internal note (@your-name).
  • Daily summary (email only) — a 24h roll-up of inbox stats.
  • Billing alerts (always on — can't disable).

Quiet hours

Set a window where mobile push goes silent (default 22:00–08:00 in your workspace timezone).

  • During quiet hours, push is held and either dropped or delivered as a single batched notification when the window ends — your choice.
  • Desktop and email are not affected by quiet hours.
  • Billing alerts always punch through.

This is the single most important setting for not burning out the inbox team.

Notification volume — common problems

SymptomFix
"I'm getting pinged on conversations I don't own."Switch from All to Mine only.
"I'm missing handoffs at night."One teammate should turn on Mobile → All unassigned during their on-call window.
"Email is too noisy."Switch from per-event emails to Daily digest only.
"Desktop notifications stopped working."Browser permission was likely revoked. Re-enable from your browser's site settings, then revisit Settings → Notifications.

Mute a specific conversation

Inside any conversation, the ⋯ → Mute option silences notifications for that conversation only. Useful for noisy refund threads where two teammates are coordinating directly.

Muting is per-teammate, not workspace-wide.
